Kenya’s Powerslide release “Vacant Home” video addressing domestic abuse

The live-footage video arrives with the band's statement on domestic abuse.

Kenyan band Powerslide have released a video for their song “Vacant Home”.

The video, which uses live performance footage, premiered on 13 April 2026 through the band’s YouTube channel.

Speaking exclusively to AFRICA.ROCKS, vocalist and guitarist Willy Ojiro said “‘Vacant Home’ is a song about domestic abuse. I can’t think of a single issue that permeates society as much, yet is talked about as little. With this song we wish to start a discussion about this silent pandemic.”

“Vacant Home” was written, recorded and produced by Willy Ojiro. It was mixed by Willy Ojiro and Wilson Muia, and mastered by Wilson Muia at a4Studios. The video was shot by Jean Ojiro and Noela Adhiambo.

The track is also available on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.
