Metal.Rocks has expanded its 24-hour television service across several Smart TV platforms, giving rock and metal fans a free channel built entirely around heavy music.
The channel first launched on German streaming service waipu.tv in October 2025 and has since widened its reach considerably. It is now available through Samsung TV Plus, Rakuten TV, Plex, waipu.tv and Pluto, with Samsung carrying the channel across 16 European countries as well as Egypt, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
Metal.Rocks runs a continuous schedule of music videos, complete live performances, documentaries and other heavy music programming. Its selection ranges from melodic hard rock and traditional heavy metal to more extreme styles, mixing recent releases with older material.
“We combined two worlds which rarely interact to such an extent: TV and music,” the team behind the channel said. “Metal.Rocks is a professionally hand-curated and regularly updated programme schedule built to please music lovers of all heavy genres, around the globe and around the clock.”
The emphasis on hand-picked programming is central to the project. Rather than asking viewers to choose individual videos or build their own playlists, Metal.Rocks follows a conventional television format, with the schedule decided by its curators.
Founder Patrick Walch has described discovery as one of the main reasons for creating the channel, arguing that music television once played an important role in introducing audiences to artists they might not otherwise have encountered.
Alongside videos and concerts, Metal.Rocks is developing original programming, including artist interviews and dedicated shows. The channel is operated by UCM.ONE in cooperation with PLAION PICTURES, with material supplied by a range of labels.
For European viewers, Metal.Rocks can be found on Samsung TV Plus at channel 4745, while Rakuten TV carries it in Europe and Plex provides wider international access. It is also available through waipu.tv and on Pluto in Spain. Availability can vary by country and platform.
