Madagascar benefit gig for Toamasina cyclone relief

On 28 February, a heavy music benefit in front of Ivokolo (Analakely, Antananarivo) will collect donations for cyclone victims in Toamasina, with drop-offs from 10:00 and live sets from 14:00 featuring West Bullet, Egraygore, RAR Project, Neverfall and Bemaneno.

A benefit event is being organised in Antananarivo this week to raise support for people affected by the recent Cyclone Gezani, which made landfall near Toamasina on 10 February and left widespread damage, with thousands of families displaced and large numbers needing urgent support. UN and meteorological updates describe heavy destruction around the landfall zone, with very strong winds and severe impacts on housing, services and schools.

The event will take over the space in front of Ivokolo in Analakely on 28 February. The schedule on the flyer splits the day in two. From 10:00, organisers start receiving donations. The morning block also lists cultural performance elements, with proceeds directed into the same relief effort. From 14:00, the live programme begins, with West Bullet, Egraygore, RAR Project, Neverfall and Bemaneno named on the bill, and more acts implied.
