Free Digital Distribution

AFRICA.ROCKS helps African bands and artists release their songs worldwide for free. From Spotify to YouTube Music, we make global distribution simple, transparent, and built entirely around the artist.

At AFRICA.ROCKS, we believe every artist deserves a global stage. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Against PR to make digital distribution completely free for African bands and musicians who want to release their music worldwide.

You’ll be able to get your songs on Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Deezer, and other major platforms, without paying any setup or upload fees.

Check our Supported Releases page to see the albums we’re currently supporting through AFRICA.ROCKS.

How It Works

  1. Fill out this Excel document. All fields with * are mandatory.
  2. Send us the document and the materials we request (see audio and artwork requirements below) to joelcosta@africa.rocks (please include “Digital Distribution” in the email subject line.)
  3. We handle the release process with Against PR via The Orchard, one of the world’s leading digital distribution services.
  4. You keep all the rights to your music. You’re free to move to another distributor at any time and there are no renewal or exit fees with us.
  5. Even if you’re signed to a record label, as long as the label is based in Africa and agrees to the distribution, we’ll handle the release too. Just include the label’s name in the document.
  6. If you don’t have a record label, simply write “self-released” or “independent” in that field.
  7. We can also distribute your past catalog, meaning previously released material is welcome.
  8. For new releases, make sure to send everything at least two weeks before the intended release date so we can ensure your music goes live everywhere on the right day.
  9. In the Territories field, write World so the release is available worldwide.

Zero Tolerance for Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance

AFRICA.ROCKS has a zero-tolerance policy toward racism, xenophobia, hate speech, discrimination, and all forms of intolerance. We reserve the right to reject, suspend, or take down any release at any time if we become aware that it includes this kind of content, promotes these views, or if any artist, band, or member is associated with, endorses, or participates in such behavior or movements.

Royalties and Payments

  • You’ll earn between 80% and 90% of the royalties your music generates.
  • Both AFRICA.ROCKS and Against PR keep nothing. The small remaining 10–20% goes directly to the distribution service that powers this system.
  • All artist payments are made exclusively via PayPal, ensuring quick and secure transfers wherever you are.
