Keanan Eksteen releases new single “Burnin’ Heart”

The South African rock artist returns with a new track produced by Jeremy Farber.

Keanan Eksteen has released a new single titled “Burnin’ Heart”. The track was produced by Jeremy Farber and recorded in a studio session the producer describes as straightforward from the start.

“This is an immediately passionate song about laying all you have on the table, offering all you have to offer, giving all you can give,” Eksteen says. “But just because you’re willing to offer it all, doesn’t mean they’re willing to take it… What does it feel like to rip your own heart out for something or someone else? Here is how it ends, right at the beginning.”

Farber points to the opening line as the moment that drew him in. “The production and recording of this song was so easy,” he says. “I was immediately interested by the opening line ‘This is how it ends’ – it really is a great hook… The chorus is catchy, and the dynamic between Keanan and Armand’s vocals works really well.”

Eksteen fronts the band formed in 2021. Since then, they have completed three European tours and shared stages with Jeremy Loops, Fokofpolisiekar and Die Heuwels Fantasties.

His catalogue includes the EP Forever and the album Golden Fever, alongside several standalone singles. The video for “Dixie Clouds” has passed half a million views.

“Burnin’ Heart” is available now on streaming platforms.
