Emalyth Events bring “Mayhem” to Sognage on 30 May

Emalyth have announced Mayhem for 30 May at Sognage, with Your Cynical Sanity, Walk These Skies, Moondaygun, Grift, Hiraeth, Goatboi, Killing Eden and Black Nature on the bill. Tickets are already on sale through Sognage.

Emalyth have locked in another stacked South African metal bill for the end of May. Set for 30 May at Sognage, Mayhem brings together eight bands from across the local heavy circuit.

Durban’s Your Cynical Sanity come in from the deathcore side and are still carrying the weight of 2024’s Anhedonic. Walk These Skies bring melodic metalcore and already have a serious live run behind them, including a third-place finish in the 2025 Wacken Metal Battle South Africa cycle. Cape Town’s Moondaygun add a newer edge again, with “Urges” out now and another city entering the mix.

Grift bring their slamming Hate City hardcore and released Stuck In It For Life last year. Johannesburg’s Hiraeth bring progressive/melodic metal to the bill, which gives Mayhem a bit more range beside the deathcore, hardcore and metalcore names around them. Killing Eden offer progressive hardcore out of Potchefstroom, and Black Nature hold down the blackened deathcore end from Johannesburg.

Then there is Goatboi, another Johannesburg band that has been surfacing on bigger local bills and on the recent Wacken Room 2 heat at Sognage alongside Black Nature.

Mayhem takes place at Sognage on 30 May.
