Lost Insen return with “Bird Cage”

Tunisian prog metallers Lost Insen have released “Bird Cage”, the first track from their upcoming EP, Renaissance.

Lost Insen’s return has been a long time coming. Formed in Tunis in 2005, the band released their debut album, Here After, in 2014. More than a decade later, Renaissance brings them back with new music, and “Bird Cage” opens that next chapter.

Speaking exclusively to AFRICA.ROCKS, bass player Yessine Belghith describes the song as a return to the feeling that first brought the band together: “Bird Cage is the first single from our new EP, Renaissance, and marks a long-awaited return for us. It takes us back to our roots. The song feels fresh and heavy, with the same energy we had when we first started playing together. It felt like the perfect way to open the EP.”

Renaissance was mixed and mastered by Tom Maclean at TwelveTone Studios. Drums were recorded at Grindhouse Studios in Athens, engineered by George Bokos and powered by Darkside Records. Vocals were recorded at Dusan Filiminovic Studio, with cover painting by Lis-Muriel Wegner.

Lost Insen are Marko Balabanovic on vocals, Karim Bouazra on guitars, Yessine Belghith on bass, Fadhel Bouazra on keyboards and Mahdix Braham on drums.
