Madagascar’s 669 debut with “TSY MATY”

Antananarivo death metal newcomers 669 have released their first official music video, "TSY MATY", a first statement built on survival, defiance and the refusal to stay buried.

New bands only get one first impression, and 669 have made theirs a strong one. The Antananarivo death metal band have just launched the video for “TSY MATY”, their first official clip and the first proper look at a new name coming out of Madagascar’s metal scene.

The song is aimed at anyone who has felt broken, judged, crushed or betrayed, and that much comes through immediately. “TSY MATY” is rooted in survival. The lyrics speak in terms of fire, ashes, fear, wounds and the choice between staying trapped in the past or pushing forward through it. Even for listeners who do not speak Malagasy, the message is hard to miss. This is a song about taking a beating and getting back up anyway.

669 feature vocalist Jennyfer, guitarist Stevie, bassist Dee and drummer Natiana. “TSY MATY” was recorded, mixed and mastered by RABARISOA Miora, with the video directed by ANDRIANAMANANA Tsiory.
