South African death metal band Hilliker have released “Deadite Desecration”, a standalone single recorded towards the end of 2025.
The song connects the band’s 2023 debut album, Cannibalistic Cacophonies, with a new EP now in development. It also moves away from the hillbilly horror themes of their earlier material, drawing instead from the events of Evil Dead Rise.
“Deadite Desecration” is the first Hilliker track written and recorded by the band as a complete unit. Cannibalistic Cacophonies began as the solo project of vocalist Alec Larsen, making the new single the first release to reflect the current group’s combined writing and performance.
The drums were recorded at Helsing Studios and engineered by Danny Helsing. Heinrich Köllner handled the mixing and mastering.
The single is accompanied by Hilliker’s first fully produced narrative music video. Previous releases had relied on live-performance footage, while this video follows the song’s horror setting more directly. Marcel Smuts filmed and edited the video, with assistance from Jamie Dreyer.
