Pariah Studios has released the fifth episode of its Live Sessions series, with SCHMÄT as the latest band to step into the room. The Johannesburg group, described here as a skollie rock ‘n’ roll band, bring their own blend of alternative Afrikaans rock and punk to the new session.
The studio is run by Evert Snyman and Kyle Leist, and that setup has stayed close to the same line from the start. Performances are recorded live, without quantisation, without vocal pitch correction, and without trying to rebuild things afterwards. What is left in the session is what was played in the room.
