Wacken Metal Battle Africa joins global Wacken warm-up day with Halvar and We Kill Cowboys

Africa will be part of Wacken Open Air's worldwide warm-up parties on 18 April 2026, with Wacken Metal Battle Africa putting together a local lineup led by 2025 winners Halvar.

Wacken Metal Battle Africa has announced its contribution to the global warm-up event marking the 35th edition of Wacken Open Air. On 18 April, 35 countries are set to host official warm-up parties on the same day, with Wacken describing it as a first for heavy metal on that scale.

The bill announced by Wacken Metal Battle Africa brings in Halvar, who won the Sub-Saharan Africa title in 2025 and went on to represent the region at Wacken, alongside We Kill Cowboys and a DJ set from Cape Town Metal Realm that will run into the early hours.

Tickets are available through Quicket.
