Pretoria’s self-described “intergalactic space metal” crew Boargazm are set to hit the stage at Emalyth Fest 2026 at Sognage in Randburg, Johannesburg, South Africa, on 7 February.
Emalyth shared the booking as a “special announcement”, framing it as Boargazm’s comeback show and pointing to Sognage as the site of the “carnage”. The slot drops them into a 14-band, two-stage day that AFRICA.ROCKS already flagged as a wide snapshot of South Africa’s heavy underground, built for pit energy but with enough room for darker and stranger corners.
If you haven’t crossed paths with Boargazm before, the basics are simple. They’re Pretoria-based, they lean into groove metal, and they wrap it all in sci-fi lore and pig-masked theatre, right down to the “Hail bacon” tagline and the “Pig Whisperers” mythos that runs through their releases. Their most recent full-length is Armagammon, released via Mongrel Records in May 2023, following singles like “Omikron” in the same cycle. For a quick entry point into their older era, “Barbatus” also has an official video.
Emalyth Fest itself runs on phased ticket pricing (R150 / R250 / R300), with the full lineup and event details centred on Sognage.
