Alexandria’s heavy calendar gets another chapter this month as Alex Death Fest comes back for its third edition. The bill pairs two Egyptian bands from different ends of the spectrum, on a night pitched in the language of myth and collapse.
“From Ma’at to Chaos, the serpents rise again,” reads the event teaser. “Prepare yourselves, Order will fall. Chaos will reign and The Will of Ra shall be revealed.”
Uraeuses are a Cairo-based black metal band formed in 2018, drawing heavily from Ancient Egypt, history, and mythology. Their debut EP, Slithering Through Ancient Catacombs, was first released independently in digital form on November 16, 2021, then issued on CD (wallet) and a limited-edition CD via Snow Wolf Records on March 9, 2024.
Regenesis join the lineup as one of Egypt’s long-running progressive metal names, active since 2016, bringing a different kind of weight to the same room.
The show takes place at the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria, with doors set for 7:00 PM.
