JIBREEL have released the official music video for “ALMONBATT (المنبتّ)”, the second chapter in the project’s developing story.
Led by Tunis-born, Milan-based musician Ouassim Amdouni, JIBREEL combine metal with Arabic lyrics and themes tied to identity, belief and moral conflict.
The title translates as “The Uprooted”. Speaking exclusively to AFRICA.ROCKS, Amdouni explains that the song continues the narrative introduced in “ALHOWA”.
“‘ALMONBATT (المنبتّ)’, meaning ‘The Uprooted’, continues the narrative introduced in ‘ALHOWA’. If ‘ALHOWA’ was the descent into an abyss where humanity confronted the decay of its values, ‘ALMONBATT’ explores the state of spiritual and moral disorientation that follows. The song reflects on a man who has embraced false promises, hollow ideals and the illusions of progress, only to find himself uprooted from his origins and trapped in nihilism and alienation,” Amdouni explains. “Through pain, doubt and inner struggle, this journey ultimately leads to a radical spiritual and moral awakening. As the second chapter of JIBREEL’s ongoing story, ‘ALMONBATT’ is both a meditation on loss and a call to rediscover meaning beyond deception, hypocrisy and materialistic illusions.”
The official video for “ALMONBATT” is available now.
