Max Marginal announces Weatnu Records signing, teases new releases

Algerian artist Max Marginal has taken a decisive step onto the international stage, announcing that he has signed with American label Weatnu Records; a move he describes as a pivotal moment in his artistic journey, with new music and major projects already on the horizon.

Algerian musician and composer Max Marginal has announced that he has signed with Weatnu Records, describing the deal as a major step forward in his career.

“I’m proud to officially announce that I’ve signed with the American label Weatnu Records,” Marginal wrote in a statement shared on his Instagram account, adding that he’s “grateful for the trust and support” and that new music and upcoming projects will be revealed very soon.

The move comes as Marginal continues to balance two sides of his output: the confrontational intensity of his technical brutal death metal project Silent Obsession, and more reflective, atmospheric material under his own name. In a recent interview with AFRICA.ROCKS, he described his solo work as a space to explore “silence and fragility,” in contrast to Silent Obsession’s heavier, collective force.

Weatnu Records, which describes itself as operating on a net-label model, says artists retain full rights and control of their work, and notes that the label is non-exclusive.

For now, Marginal hasn’t shared release dates or project details beyond his teaser.
