Southern African metal supergroup Ductone launch debut single “Apostles Of A Cancer”

Featuring members of Overthrust, Wrust and Poisoned Blood, the new project has finally unveiled its first official release ahead of an upcoming EP.

Ductone have released their debut single, “Apostles of a Cancer,” with the track appearing on Bandcamp as the first taste of the group’s forthcoming EP. The death metal project is described as a Southern African supergroup and, notably, this is the first official release from a lineup the band says was originally formed back in 2017/18.

The trio brings together Vulture Thrust of Botswana death metal band Overthrust on vocals, former Wrust drummer Lawd Master, and Mwango Lunda of Zambia’s Poisoned Blood on guitars.

Lyrically, “Apostles Of A Cancer” is framed as a condemnation of greed, exploitation and predatory power. The words cast the song’s antagonists as forces sent out to prey on the vulnerable and consume everything in their path, giving the single a pointed social edge.
