The bands behind Violent Creek Records

Endlevel, Helldrifter, Infest, Outburst, Rezet and Traitor give a strong reading of where Violent Creek Records stand right now. Taken together, those bands tell you a lot about the label's instincts, its range, and the kind of ground it wants to hold.

Violent Creek Records have kept a clear line since the start. The label was founded in Hamburg, Germany, in 2014 by Bauke de Groot and Burkhard Schmitt, and the core has stayed fixed on death and thrash ever since. After Bauke de Groot died in 2021, Joni de Groot carried things forward, and Lorenz Kandolf stepped into the management role in 2023 alongside Schmitt. The line on the label’s page is ‘From the scene, for the scene.’ Looking at the roster, it feels earned.

The quickest way into the label in 2026 is through the current run of records. Endlevel’s Weekend War comes in rough, loud and built to move. The record runs on thrashy riffs, a death metal twist, guttural vocals and high thrash vocals, all pushed with real force. It feels like a band going straight for impact, with enough drive and weight to leave a mark.

Outburst bring a younger burst of speed to the roster. Devouring The Masses is their first full-length, rooted in old school speed-thrash and pushed by sharp riffing, fast tempos and a clear live charge. “Written in Blood” gave an early taste of that, and the full record keeps the same pressure on from there.

Helldrifter open the picture up a little wider. Shell Of Inexistence gives the songs more room to build, with strong guitar work, shifts in pace and a broader sense of movement. Tracks like the title song and “Deception” show a band reaching for more than blunt force, while still keeping the weight in place.

Infest bring a nastier edge to the current run. Ambassadors Of Aggression is tight, violent and full of forward drive, with blasting speed and riffs that keep their shape under all that pressure. It stands as one of the heaviest records in the current Violent Creek picture.

Rezet and Traitor hold down the thrash end of the roster. Rezet’s self-titled album brings more movement into the label’s current run, with strong hooks, lead work and enough variation in the writing to keep the record lively. Traitor go for a more direct hit. Exiled To The Surface gave Violent Creek its first chart success in 2022 and still feels like one of the key records in the label’s recent story, full of raw Teutonic thrust and the kind of energy that can even carry a curveball like “Careless Whisper”. The live album Teutonic Slaughter kept that side of the label in view as well.

That is probably the clearest way to read Violent Creek Records right now. Six bands, different shades of the same foundation. Death and thrash sit at the centre, with enough room for speed, dirt, melody, weight and stage energy around them.

For AFRICA.ROCKS readers, that kind of label will be easy to recognise. Scenes stay alive because somebody keeps doing the work, keeps backing the bands, and keeps the records moving. Violent Creek clearly belong to that world.
