Suicide Machine have released the official lyric video for “The Dark Castle”, the opening track from their forthcoming album Knight Of The Abyss.
The Moroccan metal band will release the album on 29 August. Its songs follow different stages of human life, using fantasy to address political control, restricted freedom and the systems that determine how people live.
“The Dark Castle” represents the point at which a person begins to understand the world around them and the forces shaping their existence.
“The album opens with the track ‘The Dark Castle’, which reflects that phase in our lives when we begin to become aware of things and how the world really works,” vocalist Elias explained in a recent interview with AFRICA.ROCKS, to be published later this month.
The album continues from that initial awakening towards death and the beginning of the afterlife, closing with “The Endless Path”. The title refers to the cruel world described throughout the record and the invisible powers that control individuals, countries and nations.
Speaking previously to AFRICA.ROCKS, Elias described Knight Of The Abyss as an album about “the universal system and the control of humans in this universe”, with every song representing a particular period in a person’s life.
“The Dark Castle” lyric video is available now. Knight Of The Abyss follows on 29 August.
