Egypt’s Metal Station is heading to Alexandria for the first time, with Obscured Violence, Anemoya, Wahaj and GavelFall confirmed for the line-up.
The organisers announced the move on social media, describing the Alexandria date as the first Metal Station event to be held in the Mediterranean city. The event takes place at Sakiet Gwana, YMCA in Al Shatby, Alexandria, on Saturday, 3 October, with doors opening at 5:00 PM. Tickets are priced at 250 LE.
Metal Station has become a regular presence in Egypt’s underground over the past year, with previous editions largely centred around Cairo. Metal Station IV, held at Room Art Space in New Cairo in April, featured Hathorious, Anemoya, Infextion, Obscured Violence and Catharsis, while a fifth edition followed in June.
The Alexandria bill brings back two bands already familiar to the series. Obscured Violence have appeared at previous Metal Station events and play a mix of death and groove metal, with thrash also feeding into their sound. The band were among the acts highlighted in recent coverage of the renewed activity around Egypt’s underground metal scene.
Anemoya also return to the Metal Station stage. Formed in Cairo in 2024, the band work between progressive and gothic metal and released their debut album, Reflections, in 2025.
Also on the bill are GavelFall, a newer metalcore band fronted by Abdallah Hesham, who is also known as the drummer of Alexandrian band Riverwood. Hesham previously played an important role in pushing Maddox Theory towards the heavier direction heard in their more recent material.
Wahaj complete the four-band line-up.
