Nathyr revive “Almamluk” with first official video ten years after release

The Egyptian metal band also confirm the return of drummer Mahmoud Aly as new music begins to take shape.

Nathyr have released the first official video for “Almamluk”, ten years after the track originally appeared in 2016.

The release also marks the return of drummer Mahmoud Aly, aka Filth, to the band. Nathyr described the video as the beginning of a new period following several years of silence, with further material already being developed.

“‘Almamluk’ first came out in 2016. Ten years later, it finally has its video. It also arrives with someone familiar behind the drums: Mahmoud Aly, aka Filth, has returned to Nathyr,” the band said.

“After years of silence, this feels like the right way to begin again. There is more being built quietly in the background, and some of it may sound even better once it leaves your headphones.”

Nathyr added that more music is currently taking shape and hinted that the next step could involve a return to live performance.
