We’re 43% there: Help AFRICA.ROCKS press its first African Bands CD

AFRICA.ROCKS is raising support for its first physical CD, created to help African rock and metal bands reach new listeners through free distribution and continued promotion.

AFRICA.ROCKS is launching a physical CD series dedicated exclusively to African metal and rock bands.

This first CD will feature one band from each African country represented, then distributed for free in Europe through Season of Mist’s online shop. The goal is to put African bands directly into the hands of listeners, writers, labels, promoters, venues, festivals and people who may never have come across this music otherwise.

We already have more than 15 songs confirmed, with artists such as LohArano, Znous, Overthrust, Odious, Numidian Killing Machine, Arka’n Asrafokor and many others. The artwork is being created by a South African artist, which is also important as we want this project to feel connected to the continent in every part of it, from the music to the visual identity.

To make this happen, we are asking for donations through GoFundMe. We have already reached 43% of the amount needed, so we are getting close, and every contribution now makes a difference.

The money will help cover the production of the CDs, the artwork, and the continuation of the series, with more bands, countries, distribution partners, and more bridges between African and the rest of the world.

Any donation helps, and sharing the campaign also makes a difference.
